The free movement and lightness of Isadora Duncan's dance inspired the spring/summer 2018 collection.
An ever evolving study of form can be seen in the collection as in the work of the performer who reinvented modern dance, freeing the movement of the soul and adorning it with gossamer veils.
The women for whom Calcaterra designs and imagines for next spring and summer reveal an ideal dialog between two different types of femininity, masculine austerity and modern sensuality. The contrast of volumes in the collection is unexpected and contradictory. Constructed masculine jackets are loose or fitted, skimming the figure. Wide-legged trousers cinched at the waist and dresses with a distinct retro vibe rediscover mysterious sensuality. In an eternal quest for self-discovery, even men become a subject of study, eliminating superstructures and rediscovering the eclectic innocence of the soul.
Deserted spaces and nocturnal theaters tell a story of muted, opaque colors that are vague and often unrecognizable.
Volume loses its bulkiness and rests against the body as if blown by the wind in a spontaneous continuity between nature and absolute vitality. The garments transform into dynamic performances expressed through a new language composed of movement and emotion.
