Collection – LOOKBOOK 7/AW18-19

The successive inspiration for the collection came from the style icon and cult singer Sade, while the hints of the male flamenco dancer’s costumes and elements of the 80’s wardrobe brought August’s signature androgynous look. The main goal in the design process was to enrich the collection with bolder volumes, usage of print and expanded fabric assortment. Through playful visuals, the new collection combines temperamental South with Nordic cool.

The range of fabrics used in the collection has been expanded by a luxurious blend of organic cotton, silk and hemp. Also, season-appropriate wool in different textures, including skin-friendly and soft merino wool has been incorporated, while the 80’s flare comes through from the new denim that has been made of organic cotton.

The brand continues to use unique and carefully chosen sustainable fabrics, and all the items have been designed and produced in Estonia
August is a clothing brand combining natural materials with innovative design. Harmony between comfort, practicality and style is the main concept behind the design process. Construction of clean forms, refined lines and silent expression embody these collections, which are suitable for anyone appreciating elegant clothes as well as sustainable processes.  Of particular importance is the careful choice of materials and attention to each step of the manufacturing process. Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) certified fabric mills and sustainable fabric fairs are the cornerstone of the brand's fabric sourcing. All styles are produced in Estonia.  August is founded by an Estonian designer, Äli Kargoja (Studio Bercot, Paris), who after gaining experience in the ateliers of Nicolas Andreas Taralis and Maison Martin Margiela returned to her home country, Estonia, to execute her vision of designing clothes.
