Dana nicola is a luxury womenswear designer, focusing on bridging the gap between ready-to-wear and luxury evening wear. With a darker, alternative aesthetic her focus on using reclaimed leather and experimental surface design compliments her use of feminine silhouettes and lingerie influences. pulling inspiration from personal experiences and emotions, nicola aims to tackle political and emotional issues often avoided throughout her work.
starting out in 2019 with her graduate collection nicola now focuses on freelance design and small 'slow fashion' collections, including accessories and apparel.

Implicit Demand for Truth (BA Collection)

Influenced by a darker, luxury aesthetic, 1920s lingerie and photographers such as Nan Goldin and Katastrofffe, Nicola's graduate collection 'Implicit Demand for Truth' is a collection inspired by a personal narrative. Born from nostalgia and regret for things left unsaid, feelings never shared and relationships that never quite made it. Taking a minimalistic yet experimental approach to a conceptual theme with a focus on reclaimed and repurposed leathers, reclaimed silks and hand crafted elements. IDFT is a personal reaction to the feelings left by those loved but never able to be kept.
