Playing Dead

The Romantic Era has had a substantial influence on my work. I could spend hours listening to Chopin, particularly the Nocturne 20 in C minor. I find great pleasure in contemplating Delacroix’ and Gericault’s work for their intensity. Pre-Raphaelites’ artists amongst whom Millais and Waterhouse represent another major source of inspiration. Paolo Roversi and David Hamilton touch me with the gentleness that their pictures convey whilst Jenny Saville’s paintings exalt me with their strength.
