Concrete Collection

“It is a projection of man’s yearning for order in a disorderly world.”
Berthold Lubetkin, 1969

A collection made with cast concrete, spray-paint and constructed metal forms, inspired by post-war housing estates of the 50's.
The architects material of choice, concrete, once stood for modernity and progress now symbolizes the welfare state. Using concrete combined with contrasting materials and surfaces, Kate Bradbury has explored both the order that the architects sought to evoke, and the decay that these estates now exist in.
