The Marlon Brando film The Wild One has its plot loosely based around the events that occurred at the first post WWII annual motorcycle race at Hollister. The film depicts riotous gang behaviour, outlaw revellers, revenge and harassment. It was furthermore documented in Life Magazine in which staged photographs depicted a worse state of affairs. The truth about the event and the motorcycle club that sparked the affair, 13 Rebels, could not, however, be further from the truth.
