Perfume is a product that has always interested me, not only because of its beautiful fragrance but also the concept surrounding its use. Different to fashion as perfume isn’t visible, moreover, most of the time you need to be in close proximity to a person before the product’s propose can be met. This behaviour creates a sense of intimacy. For most people, it’s common practice to select the most popular perfumes, believing it is the ‘safe’ scent for them. Bennett considered that fashion provides one of the readiest means through which individuals can make expressive visual statements about their identities, but some believe that perfume is an invisible cloth that delivers more than just an identity.
