CHAN CHIT LO IS A LUXURY HAND-CRAFT LABEL FOCUSED ON TEXTILE WITH ATTENTION TO PRECISION, AIMED "ONE MAN'S TRASH IS ANOTHER'S TREASURE".

DESIGNER VENUS, WHO GOES BY HER FIRST NAME, IS AN EXPERT IN TEXTILE TECHNIQUES, USING A BIG PILE OF YARN AND UNWANTED GARMENTS AND REMAKING THEM INTO COMPLETELY DIFFERENT ITEMS VIA HAND KNITTING, MACHINE KNITTING AND FELTING. SHE BELIEVES THE VISION OF LUXURY IS IN SPENDING TIME MAKING FOR THE WEARER, NOT ONLY USING THE EXPENSIVE MATERIALS. SHE IS ALSO DRAWN TO MATERIALS’ FAULTS , FLAWS AND THE IMPERFECTIONS.

BORN AND RAISED IN HONG KONG, VENUS SPECIALIZED IN KNITWEAR DESIGN DURING HER STUDY AT HONG KONG DESIGN INSTITUTE WITH AN UNDERGRADUATE DEGREE OFFERED FROM NOTTINGHAM TRENT UNIVERSITY. FOR THREE YEARS, SHE WORKED AT FENIX FASHION HONG KONG AND FREELANCED FOR JASON WU AND IN ALEXANDER WANG. SHE THEN JOINED THE MFA PROGRAM AT PARSONS SCHOOL OF DESIGN. HER THESIS COLLECTION, TITLED “HOARDER,” WAS SHOWCASED IN PARSONS MFA SHOW DURING NEW YORK FASHION WEEK.
