The debut of Caroline Huth's eponymous label was at the completion of her BS in Fashion Design, when she showed her first runway collection titled, "Arts Decoratif". Since then, she has been recognized by the CFDA for her excellence in Womenswear, and continues to work on building her brand. Huth's label focuses on creating one of a kind pieces for the avante-garde woman through her use of textiles, embellishments, and knitwear. Her approach to design is lighthearted and playful, and her clothing reflects that. She takes inspiration from Art History, Architecture, travels, color, texture, and fabrications. Huth has worked with Fossil, The Row, DVF, and Tory Burch, in womenswear and embellishment design, which have also helped shape her work as a designer.

Arts Decoratif

L’Exposition Internationale des Arts Décoratifs et Industriels Modernes, also known as the Paris World’s Fair of 1925 was the defining moment of Art Deco. The term Art Deco came from the shortening of “Arts Décoratifs.” The World’s Fair was a place where ideas of international avant-garde in the fields of architecture and applied arts were brought together. The art of this exhibition was characterized by the traditional Art Deco style of a modern, and geometric composition. The Art Deco in France at this time was the inspiration for this collection. It was about luxurious handcraft, with a classical influence. They used luxurious materials to update traditional forms. Using exotic motifs, textiles, and patterns inspired by distant pre-industrial places and cultures, they were able to create fresh, modern work.
