This collection took inspiration from the 1995 campaign shot by Helmut Newton, featuring Eva Herzigova. The girly Blumarine ingénue enters the grown-up territory. She’s more femme, sexy and powerful. Featuring a bold palette of black, red, and purple, the collection signaled an erotic detour from the candy pinks and powdery baby blues favored by Blumarine’s teen incarnation. The silhouettes are provocative, dramatic, and masculine. in Newton-esque style, faces were sometimes veiled, eyes hidden behind dark glasses. The see-through top with breast-hiding velvet hearts worn by Herzigova in the Newton campaign was remade, as an homage to the Blumarine’s heyday.
