, Helsinki , FI

Finnish Textile & Fashion is organising an innovation event for the textile and fashion industry in Helsinki, Finland, on November 6–7, 2017. Our goal is to find solutions to tomorrow’s challenges today and to find new tools to promote the success of the Finnish textile and clothing industry. The best solution will receive €5,000 in prize money.

Do you have skills in textiles, automation, IoT technology, software development, or materials? Or are you interested in developing different recycling solutions, marketing, design, or service design? Our TexHack event is looking for 50 innovative participants. We welcome students, startups, other companies, and anyone rich in ideas and interested in the future of the textile and fashion industry.

At our 2-day event, participants will start solving the challenges set by nonwoven manufacturer Suominen, workwear manufacturer Image Wear, household textile manufacturer Familon, and the company behind Kivat children’s clothing, Agtuvi. Learn more about the challenges near the end of this invitation.

Company representatives and our event’s facilitators will spar with participant groups to help them draft the best possible solutions. At the end of the hackathon, participants will present their solution proposals, and the judges, among whom are corporate representatives as well as third-party experts, will reward the best proposal with a grand prize of €5,000. Groups will also have the opportunity to negotiate for further cooperation with the companies.

The jury evaluating the solution proposals consists of corporate representatives as well as futurist Elina Hiltunen, principal scientist Pekka Tuomaala from VTT, business angel Jaakko Salminen and managing director Anna-Kaisa Auvinen from Finnish Textile & Fashion. Fill out the form and apply by October 12, 2017! The chosen participants will receive confirmations by October 16, 2017.

The event will be held in Finnish and English.
