ATELIER DE GESTE is a design studio & brand founded by Beau Rhee. Atelier de Geste (The Gesture Studio) is a multi-media, material inquiry into movement, color & geometry.
The studio creates scents, bespoke garments, and objects. All the pieces stem from Rhee’s artistic work as a choreographer and artist. The design studio is committed to operating a design-for-good sustainable luxury model. We support natural materials, fair labor & conscious production. We produce limited editions, and made-to-order pieces.
ADG has been featured in international publications such as ELLE, British VOGUE, Coolhunting, among others. We had the honor of being nominated for the Art & Olfaction Awards.
The mask logo is a tribute to the original performance inspirations that drive our projects. The movement work is the soul of the studio, and is the driving inspiration for all of the design work.
“The history of theater is the history of the transformation of the human.” – Oskar Schlemmer

This series of dresses are one-off custom creations for performances & special occasions. Here, we are using the dress as an expressive, painterly, assemblage-like moving surface. Referencing Sonia Delaunay’s concept of Robe - poèmes (dress poems) we aim to create contemporary dress-poem-assemblages, layering our own sensibility of color blocking, gestural strokes and geometries.
