Anna Iris

Growing up in eastern part of Switzerland in a down to earth crafty family, textile work, sewing and knitting was a part of Annas life from the very beginning. With two much older siblings her wardrobe was mainly made up from hand me downs of a different era. Although, her mother modernised the clothes according to her instructions, blending in was never her strong suit. Maybe therefore even as a 90s kid she is more influenced by the 80s style and her designs are never about following trends.
In her search for inspiration, Anna does not just hear the loud voices but listens to the subtle tones. In her designs she goes beyond visual im-pressions and focusses on how people experience themselves and their environment. At the core of her work stands the inner view of an individual as part of society.
With her love for pattern drafting, fabric manipulation and attention to details, developing a look on the sketch book is not her style. Typically, ideas are developed in experiments with shape, fit, textures and colours.
