Yuchen Han is a fashion artist who is focused on self-emotion expression with four keywords dreamland, subconscious, glitch and surreal emotions. The graduation collection A Dream Caused By A Tiny Ant Carrying A Grain of Mega Rice, A Second Before Awakening is based on a six-year-long childhood depressive dream of the designer. The major depression happened in the first academic year at MFA made the designer start to realize more about himself as a person and an artist. After reading the book The Interpretation of Dreams by Sigmund Freud, he connects his childhood experience with the depression experience and realized he has always trying to find a place where he belongs to, a surreal and illusionary world where he could escape from the miserable reality. He would rather describe himself as a glitch rather than a person. All of his emotions are all become glitched imagines. the way how he transfers all these feelings and craziness is suddenly compressing them in his innovative developed couture textile, glitched fringe lace. This is a five layers minimum and high-temperature compressed handmade textile, the way how he combs millions of fringe hair is just represents the art how he deals with his millions of surreal emotions and makes it real.
