Inspired in early nineteenth century's Victorian wallpaper. I choose this inspiration as a celebra- tion to applied arts. I have always been fascinated when all applied arts work together for one outcome. My collection takes as reference the literary work of Charlotte Perkins Gilman's “The Yellow Wallpaper”, therein a woman who progressively becomes insane and falls apart after been locked up by her lover in a room wrapped in toxic wallpaper. A room filled with shattering prints all over the walls, which happened to contain arsenic poison in its brightful colors. The collection brims with a romantic tragedy.

Victorian wallpaper motifs are notoriously re- created and re-interpreted differently yet keeping faithful to its organic and natural inspirations. Prints are all over the garments, some spaces left clean for contrast. Historical Victorian fashion construction inspires features such as: long/short puffed sleeves, asymetric rufFLes, high collar and corset inspiration. However, it is also combined with a more modern design parting form an exploration of a denim jacket approach to, with its finish- ings and trimmings. The choice of vibrant colors in the collection is a recompilation of the brightful and predominantly green on wallpapers that proofed to contain arsenic. Fabrics con- tain very much of silk satin, cotton elastane, sarga-denim, tulle, organza. My fabrics create contrast from brightful to lightweight and heavy like denim-sarga yet are unified by the prints all over the collection.
