WORKAHOLIC

... we took our bag and travelled back. winds had changed and we were quite young when the wall came down in Germany in 1989. growing up in the East, in the former GDR, means something to a few of us. won't miss it, won't praise it. there is just a memory and feeling deep inside, nothing explainable. it was there following western German media 20 years ago, it's still there today watching the pictures and videos showing people dancing on the wall. the borderline case collection is a try of reflecting on past times and transfering it to our days. never forget your roots, but welcome the present and the future! the borderline case collection was designed by Julia Constabel, a young Berlin designer with Eastern German roots, but discovering her creativity and range of opportunities a long time after the end of the Cold War.

About the Designer

WORKAHOLIC's picture

Carolin is based in Berlin, Germany. She studied at University of Arts Berlin. Her collections are produced in Germany.

workaholic is a highly idealistic fashion project.
only working with free lancers all decisions are made independently.
breaking rules there is e.g. no summer and winter collection but new collections addressed to a certain issue every 3 month.
main distribution and communication channel is the internet.
everything and everybody behind is 98% authentic.
networking is considered as an important aspect. acting with and not against each other is another unwritten law.
all products are high quality handmade fabricated in Berlin. we are against dumping salaries and unsalaried interns. the best case working means pleasure, but it has to be paid.
workaholic is for all hard working people and especially for those who are passionate about what they are doing.
the workaholic makers themselves are inspired by twists & turns of life and addicted to electronic music.
NO WONDER WE GOT STUCK IN BERLIN.
