Wesley Harriott, a label tailored for the female who hasn’t yet learned to stand still. She fascinates with her lifestyle full of contradictions; her surroundings exhaust her, still she does not rest, caged in the most claustrophobic metropolis she commands her path with every sure-footed step. Wesley Harriott dedicates itself to the urbanite heroine who is always ten minutes late, yet misses nothing. Raised in Tottenham, London, A pre-adolescent Ricky Wesley Harriott took a keen interest in comic books and animation. Superheroes were always the sketchbook favorite, placing emphasis on their costume and uniform. It was within these moments the beginnings of a style and aesthetic began to show.
Prior to his degree, he found himself joining courses to hone his artistic creativity at the London College of Fashion, preparing him his Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion and Design. He graduated from the University of Hertfordshire in 2009.
The 2009 collection was selected to show at London Graduate Fashion week. Many strong and positive responses followed this collection, putting him in touch with employers. He was then given the opportunity to design womenswear for store groups in Paris and London. In 2010 Ricky dedicated his time to interning for various labels. Wanting to cultivate his design aesthetic, he assisted designers such as Emilio De La’Morena and Romina Karamena helping within the studio any way he could. 2011 marked itself as the launch of the Wesley Harriott label. He dedicates this year to the ultimate city superwoman.
