TIM_VAN_STEENBERGEN

The women’s collection autumn winter 2011-2012 by Tim Van Steenbergen starts from the interest and an interpretation of the work of German painter and sculptor Anselm Kiefer. Abstract structures in a historical present seek to process the past. ‘But we should also not forget the difference between what first motivated me and the work that is the result.’ Anselm Kiefer. Each garment is a concept in itself, a sensibility of an emotion. Graphical dimensions and textures of rich fabrics are pure and clean and show in organic forms a feeling of recycled materials. Colours vary from graphic black and white, ash, clay, lead, straw, gray and rust. An exclusive print of earth and other raw materials of nature in contrast with the colorful butterfly print. The shape of the silhouettes is straight and sober with a fluent easy fit, emphasizing a contemporary female elegance. A modern way of pleating details is the signature of this complete collection. A series of organic dresses go from daily over cocktail to evening wear. The little black dress and the 50ties dresses stay key items in the label Tim Van Steenbergen. A sober cut dress comes also with elaborated embroidery. There is an eye-catching range of jackets: symmetrical short and long blazers, chemise jackets, an embroidered bolero, cardigans and voluminous three-quarter length coats. A mouton retourné can be worn outside in. Skirts come in different lengths, from short to ankle length with leggings and body cat suits underneath. A divided skirt comes as well in leather as in light mohair jersey. A straight cut pants can be combined with different tops, chemises and knitwear variations. Accessories are corset belts in fish leather, shawls and embroidered collars. A selection of luxurious theo sunglasses by Tim Van Steenbergen and shoes Tim Van Steenbergen handmade by Ambiorix complete this collection.
