THORBJORNULDAM

Thorbjorn is based in Berlin-Warsawa, Denmark. He studied at Royal Academy of Fine Art Antwerpen.

Thorbjorn Uldam is Danish of origin, but fled to Barcelona, Spain at the age of 20 to start a new adventure. Here he worked under direction of Catalan designer Josep Abril and worked on various, mainly textile development projects, with another Spanish designer, Gloria Figueroa, before leaving for Belgium to study at the fashion department of the royal academy of fine art in Antwerp, where he graduated from in 2010. During his time in Antwerp, Thorbjorn developed a strong but sensitive style, with a strong presence of MAN.
Fashion, he considers a reflexive art form that tries to mirror the society we live in, through individual perspectives and experiences.
Thorbjorn's approach to fashion is to try to tell stories with his creations. Fantasy is an important starting point in his creative work, where a story or a situation he has been encountered with, quickly can turn into a fascinating obsession, that he tries to develop and interpretate until a new 'universe' or inner world have been created. The life in the life in this universe is what he wants to realize through clothes.
Today Thorbjorn is working on various freelance and personal projects, and teaches fashion at the Warsaw academy of fine art and at Esmod in Berlin.
