Beijing born London based designer Star Yixuan Hu raised in Tokyo, Wellington and London is the designer behind the label 'STAR HU'. ●

The multicultural upbringing of designer Star Hu in Beijing, Wellington, Tokyo and London has enabled her work to be a fusion of unique styles incorporating the classic and ancient "feminine/eastern” with the edgy "playful/western” approach. With “Sustainable Designerwear” and “Eco-Fashion” in mind, and a vision to create an enduring, timeless elegance, STAR HU brings together and intertwines the different, thriving cultures and avant-garde styles that exist on the London platform as her melting pot of creativity. ●

Emerging from a first class education at Europe’s leading fashion and design college, Istituto Marangoni (London campus), Star undertook several internships and work experience in fashion houses such as FrostFrench and Pringle Of Scotland. In 2010, after the outstanding reception she received following her debut catwalk show at the iconic London Fashion and Textile Museum, Star formed her design label ‘STAR HU’●

Passionate about consistent attention to detail, meticulous tailoring, architectural silhouettes and high quality fabrics, Star combines new with classic in an updated take on elegance. Often inspired by the sleek hourglass silhouette, Star creates pieces that encapsulate power, sexiness and above all else, ooze femininity. ●

Since being established in 2010, STAR HU has quickly gained strong celebrity and public following amongst women such as Bella Freud, Jasmine Guinness, Rita Ora, Nicola Roberts, Jodie Kidd, Elizabeth McGovern and Lady Gabriella Windsor, as well as receiving enthusiastic national and international press coverage including The Standard, Tatler, GQ Awards, HELLO!, British VOGUE and VOGUE China to name but a few. ●

Star’s S/S 2011 Silk Collection was quickly snapped up by well-respected UK concept store Wolf & Badger. Subsequently STAR HU showcased with renowned Vendome Luxury during Paris Fashion Week 2012. ●

Star launches her first standalone London boutique on November 20th 2012 at Portobello Green Designers Arcade, 281 Portobello Road, Notting Hill, W10 5TZ. ●

STAR HU is also stocked at Beijing Yintai Center in China No.1 Jianguomenwai street, Chaoyang District, Beijing. And Hangzhou WAOW Plaza, No.89 Chengxin Road, Qianjiangxincheng CBD, Hangzhou, China. ●
