I have always been utterly captivated by the cultures and traditions of the Indian Maharajas and similar heads of social hierarchy or caste systems. What enthralled me was how they seemed to mirror nature in that they would present themselves as the centre of all things rather like how so many civilisations have viewed nature. “At nature’s centre is the sun”. Donned, “The giver of life”, the sun was another inspiration for this collection. I want people to draw the power they crave from this line, but to know that our sun is a spec in one of many universes. I want them to accept that they are ultimately powerless in their quest for control, but that their desire to control is an ultimately beautiful struggle, that they should smile and celebrate with this reminding, strong collection that can both empower and ground them.

Sorapol is based in London, United Kingdom. He studied at London College of Fashion.

Sorapol Chawaphatnakul was born in Bangkok, Thailand on the 24th of March 1988. Sorapol moved to London in 2006 to study a BA in Womenswear at the London College of Fashion. He fell in love with London as he felt the chromatic culture and atmosphere inspired him creatively. Whilst at LCF working on his BA project, Sorapol started to realise that his most significant influences came from outside of the classroom as he spent his spare time working with other designers and began working on his own designs, anticipating the launch of his new fashion brand SORAPOL.
Consequently, Sorapol launched his new fashion brand SORAPOL, and first collection 'True Colours' on 20th October 2011 for Spring/Summer 2012.
