About the Designer
simonshilton is based in Milan, Italy. He studied at Royal College of Art.
Simon Shilton, a Milan based designer and recent graduate from the Royal College of Art, London, presents his first non-seasonal collection ‘Collection One’. Inspired by the Satsuma Rebellion in 1877, a revolt from the last remaining samurai’s against the modern Japanese Imperial government, supported by western military. The collection explores the harsh identity between the Samurai’s and the British Army, leather becomes embossed, denim is heavy black-on black printed, Samurai tattoo prints and gold flocking give the collection its identity.
