This warm wool overcoat with a removable volant is a part of the Kamenskakononova Fall/Winter 2012 collection. The mood of the collection is a search for shelter and defence. The collection has absorbed elements of aristocratic military, in which the clothes are less functional and have more emphasis on honour, austerity, courage and wisdom. The volant can be unzipped, transforming the overcoat into a warm jacket. The coat is made from a heavy check wool in dark blue/grey colour and the volant is made of a more delicate wool in black. In this collection we tended to cover the female modesty with coarse rough tops. We tried to use silhouettes and materials that balanced masculinity and femininity, for instance, we referenced traditional menswear tailoring and fabrics for most of the overcoats and jackets - as can be seen in the Volant Coat. We wanted to shelter female modesty with an imaginary flak jacket to secure it from anything affected, inessential or unimportant. Despite her active character and the rush of our modern world, the Kamenskakononova woman appreciates her inner harmony. She values the essence of things and primarily her own essence.
