Inspired by Luis Buñuel whose films were famous for their surreal imagery. One of the most memorable things about Buñuel's Belle de Jour is the fabulous fashions designed by Yves Saint Laurent. In 1966 the 29 year-old Yves Saint-Laurent was hired to design the wardrobe for Catherine Deneuve in Buñuel’s Belle de Jour, and Deneuve and YSL developed a lifelong friendship on the set of the film.
