This Vedova Nera Brooch is a spectacular oxidized sterling silver brooch with a faceted black onyx. This incredible spider is refinished, bent and signed by my hands. Coloured with a natural process of oxidation done with sulphur that, besides purifying, produces unique colours that are never the same. Made to Order. Please allow a little extra time for delivery.
This is the first piece that started the collection and was inspired by a dear friend and by the work of Louise Bourgeois. For me the spider, in this case a black widow, resembles something that is inside of us and can scare or attract others. It's a modern talisman that attracts the good that is in ourselves. It is a symbol of female powers.
