Saskia Schijen was born in Krefeld, Germany. She graduated from the Royal College of Art in 2011. Her collection was inspired by the early and later work of Wolfgang Tillmans and features denim with graphic wash and dye effects as well as luxury sportswear. Her RCA graduate collection played with proportion as she payed tribute to 90s low-rise jeans in intricate washes and skinny active wear tops. Her up-sized belted denim pants in a tight color palette of white and indigo created a clinical and fresh look, while bleached laundries gave the collection its streetwear edge.
