Our body changes together with our taste and
our interests. XCIX_Y is an object that
can be transformed and changed following the
taste of its user, creating a special relationship
between the person and the object.
XCIX_Y is a bracelet that lasts for 99 years.
It expresses the age of its user.
Every single piece is different; they are 18 in total, 9 in walnut and 9 in red Perspex.
The wooden pieces represent the decades, from 10 to 90 and the red Perspex indicates the years in between, from 1 to 9.
You can play with the pieces, wear them loose or keep them together and create different combinations to express you age.
About the Designer
sara is based in London, United Kingdom.
Sara Ferrari was born in a country shaped like a boot. After her education in product design, the boot started to smell a little funny so she decided to move to London where everything smells fresh and interesting and where she now resides as a freelance designer and writer.
After her collaboration with product and interior design practices such as Michael Sodeau Partnership, Mark Gabbertas and Jump Studios, in the 2009 she founded saraferraridesign.
Her design focuses on the relationship between people and objects and wants to
create new experiences and new ways of consumption.
