In the past, I have always been amazed by the great number of Eastern Asian students that came to England to study fashion with little spoken English but who thrived on the dream of one day becoming a successful fashion designer. Tokyo in particular, encourages their young stars that are known as “U-turners” to train abroad and return to their home country in order to build their own brands.
