Departing from the quirky 60’s optimism of cult French film Mon Oncle by Jacques Tati, Georgian designer Ria Keburia transposes modernist interiors onto the body in a pure study of line and curve. Sky blue, pearl white and blush tones lift through a palette of black and ink blue.

Silk satin and gazar lend a fluid structure to cocooning shirt jackets, blouses, shift dresses and soft tailoring, realized in box pleating and an intricate tube detail that forms a structured stripe. Elsewhere satin is paneled into crepe for an unexpected tuxedo finish, continuing the linear motif. Trompe l’oeil details add depth to the tiered silhouette: a short playsuit has a skirt front, and stiff fins trace down shirting or the peak shoulder of a blazer. Seams peel open in soft folds, extending a garment’s pattern beyond its architecture.

Girls walk on stacked sandals, like stepping stones along the garden path.
Honeycomb sunhats are a further touch of the bizarre - echoing both Madame Arpel’s millinery, and her taste in lampshades.
