QED

Q.e.d.’s new A/W 08/09 collection „cinesthetic“ pays homage to the flip book as the predecessor of the film, as well as it pays tribute to its pioneers, the Skladanowsky brothers of Berlin. The flip book was the first item to create movement out of ordinary pictures by means of optical illusion. Up until this day the simplicity of its effect and its charm still fascinates us. Kinesis=movement and aethesy=perception are the key ideas of our collection, which are implemented into the pieces through transforming their static into movement, thus, giving the wearer the opportunity to make small changes themselves in order to let them participate in the process of creating. This is the exact equivalent interaction the user of flip books experiences. The flipping movement will be realised by contrasting square-edged shapes with round ones, through layering, cuttling, bountiful volumes and surprising patterns. Matt surfaces will be contrasted with shiny ones, moveable layers and prints will translate the playing with optical illusion, its colours ranging in different nuances of black.

Natasha is based in Berlin, Germany. She studied at ESMOD Berlin, Koefia Rome. Her collections are produced in Germany.

q.uod e.rat d.emonstrandum, shortened to q.e.d., is a Berlin based fashion label, founded by Julia Böge, Simona Gabrieli and Jasmin Moallim in 2006.
During their studies at fashion school, the three discovered their common love for the colour black, which kick-started their subsequent collaboration, that has culminated in the debut collection “Jerry Lewis vs. Gari Kasparov” for fall/winter 06/07.
A mixture between minimalism and playfulness, the garments adhere to the rules of classical menswear tailoring but mix up the uniformity with playful details.
“Jerry Lewis vs. Kasparov” is a collection firmly rooted in the belief that intelligence is sexy- an intelligence made irresistible by its ironic self-contemplation.
This debut collection emerged on the runway in January 2007 at the “Beck´s Fashion Experience”, where q.e.d. was selected as the only menswear collection on show in a field of designers set to represent the best in young German design talent.
Due to the three personalities working on the collections, q.e.d. creates a unique mixture between minimalism and playfulness, exquisitely detailed, subtly extravagant, yet very wearable and high in quality.
