PAULACHENG

Paula is based in New York, United States. She studied at Parsons the New School for Design, MFA Fashion Design and Society and graduated in 2010.

Paula Cheng was nominated as Designer of the Year in 2010 for her graduating collection, META, at Parsons the New School for Design. Among her recent achievements include winner of Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty Competition sponsored by the House of McQueen and the Metropolitan Museum, New York, finalist of the 2011 Feel the Yarn competition at Pitti Filati, finalist for two Moët Hennessy • Louis Vuitton competitions at Parsons, and designer feature in September 2010 and 2011 issues of Vogue Italia.
Cheng completed her BFA at Parsons, and also received fashion education from La Cambre in Brussels, Belgium, and ESSA Duperré in Paris, France. With professional and institutional experience in Asia, United States and Europe, Cheng's design style is cosmopolitan, conceptual and provocative. Cheng continues her training at the Fashion Design and Society masters program at Parsons, specializing in deconstructive knitwear and complex free-form draping.
