As part of the International Biennial of Lin de Portneuf, Daniel Henry, curator of the exhibition "Homemade / Handmade", brings together 12 artists from France, Quebec and Belgium.
Designers which recognizes "the leg", this way of doing that is putting the finishing touches over the years and experiences. Most of them are versatile and multidisciplinary practices, each feeding the other, weaving, knitting, embroidery, lace, printing, folding and finishing. Some designers build their clothes from the line, the others to manipulate the volume of the fabric.
Obviously, flax is honored with its qualities of comfort listed in the environmental movement. They use it alone or with other fibers, sometimes with wool in order to provide clothing of season or winter. All are proof that linen is one of the most current materials!
