DRESSED INTEGRITY

London College of Fashion is proud to present DRESSED INTEGRITY, the second exhibition in a cultural exchange between creative practitioners from London College of Fashion (University of the Arts, London) and The Swedish School of Textiles, University of Borås, Sweden.

Earlier last year London College of Fashion showed DRAWING AND THE BODY in Galleri KG52 in Sweden presenting an exceptional range of work by sixteen fashion designers, illustrators, costume designers and artists from London College of Fashion. Pieces by young and talented practitioners stood alongside established, high profile figures such as Professor Helen Storey MBE, fashion designer and Fellow of the RSA; Professor Lucy Orta internationally renowned artist and environmentalist who recently co-curated the GSK Contemporary exhibition at the Royal Academy of Arts – Aware: Art, Fashion Identity; and Charlotte Hodes, winner of Jerwood Drawing Prize 2006.

In a continuation of this exciting dialogue between both Universities Dressed Integrity will seek to open up practise in addition to examining the role of craft and hand-making alongside the use of digital processes. With a varied focus on design methodology, identity, experiments of shape and material, processes, sketching and cutting, the exhibition will show both finished products and work in progress, which addresses the question of integrity in fashion. Four PhD researchers in practical design research are participating in the exhibition bringing their own perspectives to this fascinating area of study.

The PRIVATE VIEW for DRESSED INTEGRITY takes place tomorrow, Tuesday 21 February 2012. Please see your exclusive invite and RSVP details below.
