NAOMIMCINTOSH

This collection is called 'Wearable Drawings' and the pieces are made by hand in London from beautiful walnut wood, polished clear acrylic and gold vermeil. These materials allow the intricate nature of the work to be visible. Inspiration for the pieces comes from a fascination with rock formations as well as the contours of the human body. Construction, architectural methodologies and drawing conventions have also contributed to this unusual way of working. Designer Naomi Mcintosh says, 'I think of the body as a landscape and use cross sections to suggest spaces on the surface of the skin. When worn these fluid works act in synchronicity with the body.'
