This collection was part of a Sustainable project within the University of Arts of London, looking at the impact of fashion on the environment.
The starting point of my research is a book on Butterflies by Thomas Marent. A little Garden of Eden where Organic shapes and colours are recalling nature, moths and butterflies forms on the garments, appearing in the shape of bags handles, necklaces, and prints. The organic feeling is noticeable also through details, which have been skilfully crafted by hand. All the leather has been sensibly sourced, it is vegetable dyed and based on chrome free treatments, 70% of the fabrics are organic and the 90% is natural yarns, hand dyed with blackberry, rosehip and regular tea and dylon dyes.
