Matthew Duffy’s Autumn/Winter ’13 collection, ‘It ain’t Coca-Cola, it’s Rice’, is inspired by Japanese architectural construction and horticulture. The silhouettes of the collection derive from the ways in which Japanese buildings are constructed, and the knitwear techniques used within his collection are heavily informed by Japanese gardens, in particular reference to the tiles and woven baskets that are often predominant feature within Japanese horticulture.
