MARGOT_BOWMAN
This season Margot Bowman presents a capsule collection of hand-painted vintage pieces following on from smaller projects within the same remit leading up to this moment. The driving inspiration behind these pieces is the idea of “Clothes for British Women of The Future”. Pieces for 2080, when the world is a very different place and society returns to a quasi-tribal existence, with limited material and resources. Design conscious pieces with an urban sensibility and youthful exuberance offer an alternative perspective on upcycling and a new wave for the vintage clothing revolution with bold designs in red, white and blue in tribute to the shared heritage and cultural understanding of Britain as we move ever deeper into the new century. Characters evolve and develop as these new-age women express their individuality through marking their clothing and themselves – the collection presents a fresh vision and optimistic future for British fashion for a group, content and pleased with the new life they are creating for themselves.
