‘Floating Gems’ have elements of conventional settings with an added contemporary twist. She creates the pieces in wax and through the process of lost wax casting the gems move and cluster together in the molten metal, leaving an imprint of where they were originally placed. They appear in unexpected positions with their movements becoming integrated in the final design.
