LEONNEKEDERKSEN

Known for his distortion of normal human body proportions, Danish photographer Asger Carlsen’s work inspired me to create a new human form. In order to achieve this innovation, I had to conceive an entirely new manner of clothing construction. Designed to alter the shape of the body, in this case primarily by presenting it backwards, the corsets work to emphasize the backside instead of the front for a change. Adorning the basic framework, the color and shape of the clothing pieces themselves hark upon a place called Dadipark, an abandoned amusement park ripe with juxtapositon: an eccentric ghostown reclaimed by nature.
