LAURA_DAWSON
The play between the characters Claire Romilly and Hester in the book Enigma. The collection looks like the interior of Claire's closet, with some interjections of the fierce and masculine from Hester's closet. Claire's room is like a platonic boudoir. Claire is in the rations period of 1943 England, and her pre-war possessions whisper of luxury nearly forgotten, soft silks in brilliant colours, luxurious velvets, lush topcoats, with the crackle of jewels and the dust of makeup across dresser corners.
Hester is sober, elegant logic: dangerously sharp, no-nonsense and hard as nails. These interjections come by way of tough hardware, luxurious and strong zippers, and firm, taut waterproofs and non-leathers.
