I graduated from The Arts University College at Bournemouth July 2012. my specialism for my last collection was menswear but i have sufficient skills in Womenswear and have just been commissioned for 3 wedding dresses. I would say my design aesthetic would be to make something new of menswear bring it to a more commercial based idea but with an edgy look and feel. i convey this in my designs by using unorthodox materials but using traditional techniques for example knit. i have used rubber and latex and also like using strong ridged materials to create my designs, i then try to bring this down to a more commercial edge to make the concept sell-able and not to over the top. most people that have seen my work and made comments have said that with the mix of the way i have shown and music i have chosen to be quite eerie and clinical at times, i would say this is because of the colours and shapes i use i like to use very basic colours in my collections so mostly blacks, greys and whites but then i can use accent colours to line and also to panel them. My plan is to build my own label and to hopefully bring more texture into menswear fashion as this is one of the things i feel is missing from menswear.
