About the Designer
kirsty is based in LONDON, United Kingdom. She studied at CENTRAL ST MARTINS. Her collections are produced in United Kingdom.
UK born Kirsty graduated in 2008 with a distinction from Central St Martins College of Art and Design's (MA) Womenswear course. After showing her MA final collection on the London Fashion Week catwalk, Kirsty was snapped up by Alberta Ferretti to design for her in Italy, where she worked for a year and a half, before returning to England to work as a womenswear/ jewellery designer for a variety of high end labels. With not only a natural talent for fashion, Ward’s handmade embroideries have attracted interest and commissions from a variety of fashion’s heavy weights.
For A/W 2010/11, Kirsty teams up with London fashion week debutant David Longshaw (after meeting whilst both designing for Alberta Ferretti) to design jewellery for his A/W catwalk collection titled,
‘Escaping Emily’.
Ward’s work often juxtaposes the masculine and feminine and this collection is no exception, with beads, crystals, fine silks and plumbing all thrown in to the mix to create beautiful, yet fun, arresting pieces that have already got the fashion world a buzz.
