JOHAN is based in New York, United States. He studied at Royal Academy of Fine Arts Antwerp and graduated in 2010.

Johan Åkesson was born in Stockholm Sweden ‘83. Studied fine arts at UCCA in Maidstone England. Received his MA in Fashion from the ‘Koninklijke Academie voor Schone Kunsten van Antwerpen’ in 2010.He participated in ‘Party Saty’ in Bruges and Weekend Knack Award in Brussels. His work has been published in Tangent-, WAD- and Metal-magazine among others. Beginning his professional during his studies in 2009 with Antwerp based company Material boy/aLABELBY as well as instigating projects together with professional and non-professional designers. Relocating to New York in 2011 to work for Patrik Ervell in the position of designer/patternmaker.
