JENNIFERMORRIS

Following the success of her Masters collection 'Chimera Nahual', Jennifer Morris releases her labels debut collection for Autum/Winter 2012/13. The collection was exhibited during London Fashion Week in conjunction with Vauxhall Fashion Scout. Combining her unique sense of colour and texture the collection draws on the ideas of chaos theory and fractal geometry, looking at the quintessentially chaotic system of weather and the holistic essence of nature. The balance between form and chaos is explored, with the structure of garments descending into an unpredictable explosion of colour and texture. Jennifer Morris is a London based fashion designer specialising in luxury ready-to-wear garments. The brands unique selling point lies within its use of colour and texture to create original garments of high quality craftsmanship. Special care is taken with each garment with hand embroidery, fabric dying and hand finishing all conducted to create a demi-couture quality of finish.

About the Designer

Jennifer is based in London, United Kingdom. She studied at London College of Fashion.

Jennifer Morris studied Fashion Design at Edinburgh College of Art before receiving her MA in Fashion Design and Technology from the London College of Fashion in 2011.
Jennifer is from Edinburgh in Scotland where she completed her first degree in fashion and gained work experience with Gharani Strok in the run up to London Fashion Week. After graduation she spent a year travelling and working in Australia but on her return to the UK she renewed her aspiration of becoming a designer and joined LCF to study MA Fashion Design and Technology Womenswear.
Her exquisite MA collection is characterised by intense colour and shapes formed by fusing fabric through ‘tufting’ - a unique technique originally developed by Jennifer using specialist technology at the LCF Lime Grove campus which she then developed further through collaborating with an Indian manufacturer on a hand embroidery technique. The resulting look could easily be mistaken for the sheen and texture of fur - but each piece has been beautifully crafted through this unique hand embroidery process. After graduation Jennifer hopes to continue to work in luxury womenswear design.
