AMERICAN_PEREZ

American Perez was born in June 2008 in Barcelona. Natalia Perez and Jorge Bolado Moo are the names behind the brand. Natalia was born in 1986 in Barcelona; she graduated as a fashion designer in the Superior School of Design ESDI (Barcelona) as well as at the University of Southampton.

Jorge was born in O Porriño in 1984; he graduated in Fine Arts from the University of Vigo and later moved to Barcelona where he completed his Master’s degree in styling at the Superior School of Design BAU.

Their colourful collections are inspired by dreams about places where they haven’t been before. Their first collection “American Perez” was finalist in Modafad Book-t project (September 2008), selected by the Genial Fashion STIB as one of the best collections (September 2008), showed in Madrid Fashion Week El Ego de Cibeles (February 2009) and were invited by CreatEurope Design Award to Berlin in October 2009.

The second collection, “Miami Heat” was shown and finalist in Modafad Awards in September 2009. American Perez will present their third collection at Madrid Fashion Week on February 2010.

NOTHING INSPIRES US LIKE… Artists, travelling, colours, Made in USA and stupid daily life things.

WE HOPE… To never lose the enthusiasm for what we do.

CULTURAL INFLUENCES… We come from very different places. Natalia is from Barcelona, where the sun is always shining as she spends her Sundays at home eating paella. Jorge is from Galicia, where it is always raining and many people think there is still no bus…

WE GOT WHERE WE ARE… We are at the beginning, but working hard, believing in us and thank our families for where we are.

FASHION CAN SOMETIMES... Love and hate equally.

MONEY MAKES… You have time to do something you're really interested in. Not just survive.

DID YOU KNOW… We have a Persian cat named Taz that we love. In our next collection, there is a piece inspired by him.

LOVE NOW BECAUSE… Life is too short!

FAITH IN… Ourselves, as it makes us create beautiful garments.

CREATIVITY COMES FROM… Knowledge, passion, work and all what surrounds us. Once we are clear about the concept, we work on it obsessively, it borders on unhealthy.

LOVE IS… Friendship with erotic moments…

PAIN COMES FROM… The frustration of not being able to achieve your goals.

PARIS IS… A typical location for a honeymoon travel.

THERE'S A NEW... Girl in town, and always wears American Perez. She likes colour, cooking, cats, and very short skirts.

INCOMPETENCE... Makes everything slower.
