NOT JUST A LABEL.com’s revolutionary shopping experience is now into its 3rd month on the web and Amanda Lepore, the LaChapelle muse and fashion fraterniser, takes the stage as the shop’s curator. NJAL's Elizabeth De Groot went to meet Amanda Lepore in NYC and asked her about her selection and her view on fashion:

At 17 there were two big changes in my life: One, I had a sex change. Two, I moved to New York. Both of these decisions were set to shape my life.
I became famed in New York both as a promoter and as an unusual fixture at the make-up counter at Patricia Fields. And along the way I met, and began collaborating with, the renowned photographer David LaChapelle. I became his muse and have featured in all his main books. I became famous on the New York club scene as a good time girl, who attended every party without fail! I have also become notorious for my open endorsement of cosmetic surgery in an ambition to create a perfect beauty.
My conspicuous profile has lead to appearances in ad campaigns for Heatherette, Swatch and Jawbone. I have released my own album, perfume and cosmetics range and have hosted shows for Dior Homme and Diesel and the Lifeball in Vienna. Besides opening for Grace Jones and Cindy Lauper I recently appeared in French playboy they even made an Amanda Lepore doll!
My selection for NJAL is based not only around my own eccentric and glamorous style, but my appreciation of the need for new and fresh talent. Look out for me during New York fashion week as I will be wearing some NJAL designers!
