With this AW/12 collection, Haizhen Wang continues to develop his creative universe, exploring the multiple and endless variations from native cultures, seeing beauty perceived in so rich ways. This reveals itself through a journey from looking at native African and Asian costumes, historical British military uniforms, to 21st century modern culture. A key focus of the collection is contrasts on various levels from materials to proportions. The garments displays the body from different views, from wide and voluminous shapes, through strict and tailor fitted clothing to flowing and loosely shaped items. As this is the year of the Queens jubilee, this has influenced the collection, specially seen through Royal Guards chains as accessories pieces. The clothes range from loosely fitted coats, with elements from historical military costume, to sharply cut tailored jackets. Attention to the neck is also a key element. Collars and hoods that emphasize and curves around the neck, bringing comfort and protection. The materials used is heavy, felted, Italian wool for coats and blazers. Dresses created from chiffon, for flowing drapery. And as a contrast: padded coats and capes, with faux fur trimming, and statement buckle closures.The collection includes a showpiece dress, and other showpiece accessories. These build up under the theme of the collection, layering and contrasting using various materials.

Haizhen is based in London, United Kingdom. He studied at Central Saint Martins College of Art and Design and graduated in 2005. His collections are produced in United Kingdom.

Haizhen Wang being a London based designer is predominantly inspired by heritage and culture. His collections are designed with a sense of masculinity and individuality.

Born in the exciting city of Dalian, China, Haizhen Wang acquired an unyielding passion for art and design since young. This led him to a path of success, from furthering his education in fashion design in his hometown to ambitiously obtaining the highly coveted MA degree in Womenswear Fashion from the prestigious Central Saint Martins in London.
Following his formal education, Haizhen Wang developed a love for tailoring and his expertise guided him to an auspicious career line working for well-known companies, Handwritten by Tanya Sarne, All Saints, Boudicca and Max Mara. The designer later established his eponymous label in 2010, and recently showcased his AW11and SS12 collections at London and Paris Fashion Week.
