GRALIAS

The brand was founded in 2010 by the designers Julia Guglielmetti e Grazi Cavalcanti, both graduated at Faculdade Santa Marcelina. At first, Gralias was a costume design studio and then it also became a fashion brand. Mixing fashion with performing arts costume design (theater, movies and dance) bringing one universe into the other, is Gralias’s main concept. The attention to clothes’ small details, as much as the textures construction, handmade work and colorful prints are the brand’s feature. Gralias’ main concept is to connect fashion and costume design, so the designers Julia Guglielmetti and Grazi Cavalcanti usually write their own stories and characters to inspire their fashion lines. For this collection, the designers created a fictional city, called “Katakuyna”, and the the national costumes of this area are shown in their fashion collection. A real Peruvian festival called Takanakuy, 91 year-old interior designer Iris Apfel and fashion critic Anna Piaggi, were the main references to write this story.
