For autumn/winter festive I have taken the classic achkan and tuxedo and infused it with my creative aesthetics which is greatly influenced by street wear.The silhouettes are a mix of menswear clubbed with the traditional Indian wear for example.the tuxedo sari,the achkan kaftan etc.The main aim in this collection is to transcend the conservative achkan/tuxedo look into a more unidentifiable space .And to make it unique to india,gh I have used indian fabrics and embroideries ,clubbed with modern classic menswear fabrics. The colors used in this collection are warm Indian colours like mustard ,royal blue, bright peach and since fluorescents are my all time favourites I have thrown in a bit of flourscent pink.

About the Designer

tanya is based in mumbai, India. She studied at N.I.F.T and graduated in 2003. Her collections are produced in India.

‘ GaGa’ by Tanya Sharma is a fashion label which was launched in the summer of 2009. Tanya is an alumnus of the prestigious NIFT(Mumbai). As a tribute to India, Tanya draws her inspiration from the rich diversity of its plethora of cultures, vibrant colours and earthy core. Her designs are a dynamic and vivacious melange of traditional Indian textiles, embroidery and contemporary styles which lead to her distinct signature look. Through Gaga,Tanya looks towards evoking a sense of the avant-garde and the Sublime. Gaga’s main focus is to let the lush and lively spirit of colour spread the message of love and happiness
