FINSK

Skin by FINSK is the newest venture for FINSK. As the main brand continues to grow in popularity, the introduction of a sister brand is perfectly timed. The manufacturing process and a strong individual design aesthetic have always been fundamental to the success of FINSK, where every shoe is handmade by skilled craftsmen. Skin by FINSK adds a new element to the FINSK range. While maintaining great attention to detail, production moves to a factory unit to achieve higher quantities to satisfy the need for a more affordable diffusion line. Skin by FINSK embodies the brand ethos, retaining the use of high quality luxury materials and a similar FINSK aesthetic. The Spring/Summer 2012 collection presents a range of styles, including comfortable mid-height, multi-laced strappy wedges in washed out forest green, grey and black. The collection also features high graphic sandal wedges with simple raw edge straps that wrap the foot in classic black, vanilla and dreamy grey, finished off with bright highlights of coloured EVA.

About the Designer

Julia is based in United Kingdom.

Julia Lundsten has made a name for herself as one of the most promising and talented shoe designers, with her label "Finsk", launched in 2004. London based Finnish born Lundsten, who has been dubbed the Eames of footwear, has established herself as a designer with a strong vision and unique, directional style. With an architect father and interior designer mother, Lundsten has cultivated an eye for design, clearly reflected in her work. Some of her biggest inspirations have derived from natural architecture, including buildings and furniture details as well as structures found in nature. Likening a shoe to that of a chair, Lundsten says the heel and sole are the chair legs, with the upper, the seat. Lundsten graduated from London’s Royal College of Art, in 2003 and won the prestigious Manolo Blahnik Award two years running. "Exquisite, divine and perfect" are just some of the words Blahnik has used to describe her shoes.
